Filled with Fire
Have you ever gotten the urge to do something, anything, and you couldn't stop? Recently, my "filled with fire" moments have been with writing. Whether it's been for blogging, for post-grad applications, or for fun, I've enjoyed getting back into the swing of things with words.
When you take a break from doing something regularly, it can be difficult to get back into the habit and the drill. Here are some of my motivation strategies:
Motivational quotes: probably my biggest word motivator ever. Current one written in my Passion Planner (my guide to life): "Coffee with a friend is like capturing happiness in a cup." Not only does that combine my love for words, coffee, and people, it is constantly written to remind me every day this week of what I love.
Random acts of kindness: I mentioned in my previous post that I've been using my Kindness Cards from Thimblepress because I'm obsessed with them. In addition to these, I love to text people lots of heart emojis, screenshots from my favorite Instagram profiles, and additional motivational quotes to get them through the week.
Quality conversations: I prioritize people because I believe that everyone has a place in my life and an important reason for our connection. Therefore, I will always be up for a coffee date, late-night Cookout run, or spontaneous adventure (especially if photography is involved) to keep my sanity afloat.
The biggest one since I returned from Edinburgh has to be SPONTANEITY: I'm a huge planning person, which I'm sure you would know if you've even glanced at my Passion Planner. Since coming back from a place where I encouraged spontaneity in my life, I've been working on incorporating it into my senior year bucket list. In my scheduled ways, that means leaving large chunks of time open for something, anything to come up and change my day for the better.
What are some of your motivation strategies? I'd love to hear about them through this blog, Facebook, or Instagram. Keep me updated, and I'll try some new ones too!
Lucky Strike of the Day: I went to the Biltmore Estate for a fall break adventure and thoroughly enjoyed the rooftop tour (check out my latest Instagram post). It's always amazing to consider life through a different perspective.
